Why All the Nature Photos on Our New Site?

Oct 24, 2022 | News & Events

Stone House Associates is very excited to launch our brand new, completely redone website! It features new content, new photos, and an updated layout! While it was hard to let go of the former trusted and true website, we LOVE the look and functionality of the new one.

Now as you look at our site, you might be wondering, “Why all the nature photos?”

Because nature is truly awesome. Nature heals. Nature inspires. Nature is amazing.

I am not alone in appreciating the many wonders and healing aspects of nature (see APA: Nurtured by Nature). “Exposure to nature has been linked to a host of benefits, including improved attention, lower stress, better mood, reduced risk of psychiatric disorders and even upticks in empathy and cooperation.” Furthermore, according to Dr. Lisa Nisbet in the aforementioned article, “There is mounting evidence, from dozens and dozens of researchers, that nature has benefits for both physical and psychological human wellbeing.”

My own experience supports this data; simply being in nature helps me feel better. It draws me into the present moment. I notice the various sights and sounds around me —and then—I am moved to capture these sights with my camera. All of this provides me with a temporary vacation from my many thoughts and worries.

Nature is truly magnificent and resilient. I am in awe on a daily basis, when I remember to take the time to stop and look.

As you peruse our website, you will find a sampling of photos graciously donated from members of our community, as well as some that I have taken myself. Some are of Vermont landscapes; some are from far away. There are sunrises and sunsets, and everything in between. Nature is stunning.

If you care to share your photos, they may end up in a future blog post (send to Dr. DiBlasio). I love to see what catches someone’s eye, as we all see our world differently.

Many thanks to Geralyn Miller Design  and Bob Plaskon for their tremendous work on this new site. This truly was a team effort, and their expertise (and patience!) was absolutely instrumental in making this project flow so smoothly, efficiently, and successfully.

I only hope that you love our new website as much as we do!

And while our website has changed, our dedication to offering the highest quality mental health services to our local community has not!  Check out our services, our providers, and the issues that we treat pages.

And as you do, just be sure to notice all the great nature photos!
