Each one of us possesses problem-solving strategies. In times of transition and stress, these strategies can feel less effective. Therapy can uncover and further develop these skills and increase personal resiliency. Together, we will work to enhance your unique coping strategies, build your sense of self and move toward a life of wholeness and strength. It takes a lot of courage to start therapy. I am continually awed by people and their willingness to work through their challenges. It is an honor to be involved in this work.

As your therapist, I am here to listen, support and work collaboratively with you to rediscover your strengths and reach your desired goals. My style is warm and direct. I am trauma informed and use a strength-based perspective. My experience, education and knowledge has afforded me the opportunity to work with people seeking help with substance abuse and addiction, those struggling with a loved one’s addiction, trauma, depression, anxiety, life transitions and difficulty expressing and regulating emotions. Depending on each individual’s strengths and needs, I will use various treatment models, including cognitive behavioral and solution focused therapy, mindfulness techniques and motivational interviewing.

I have been specializing in the education, prevention, and treatment of substance use disorders for 30 years and have worked in residential, outpatient, correctional and educational settings.  I became a Licensed Drug & Alcohol Counselor in 1996 and earned a Masters in Social Work at Syracuse University in 1999. My training began in long term residential treatment and shifted to working in correctional settings with both men and women. I have extensive experience working with school age children between the ages of 5-18, as a Student Assistance Counselor and School Social Worker, as well as in higher education as a therapist at the Syracuse University Counseling Center.

I have lived and worked in New Hampshire, New York, and Vermont, where I have made my home for 23 years.

I will work on a sliding scale basis and am currently able to take Medicaid, BCBS VT, MVP & Cigna EverNorth.
