Our associates offer a variety of treatment approaches for depression and other mood disorders. These approaches include but are not limited to cognitive behavior therapy, narrative therapy, solution focused therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy. These techniques are most often used in a blended fashion specifically designed to meet each client’s needs.
Stone House Associates has several practitioners who specialize in the treatment of anxiety disorders, including panic attacks, phobias, post traumatic stress disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorders in adults, adolescents and children. A cognitive behavioral approach is often utilized as part of this treatment approach.
Psychotherapy can help with the adjustment to loss or other significant life changes (e.g., divorce, blended families, relocation, coping with an ill family member, job change, stress, etc.) by offering support, information, and strategies for coping with this change or loss.
Mindfulness training, meditation and relaxation techniques as well as more structured stress management and coping skills are often an integral part of psychotherapy designed to reduce anxiety and distress.

All of our providers have extensive experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma, and a number of our providers are trained in EMDR.
Medical issues present both physical and emotional challenges. Physicians frequently refer patients for psychotherapy to aid in the individual’s adjustment to these challenges and to learn additional coping skills.
